Danger Mines

Peter, goodbye old friend.

When you think about things in life that has changed your life, there's certain experiences that has made us who we are. What we do, how we live, where we are, when we press on or when we take a moment. In my life, a couple of the people who had great influence on me and my artwork was John Balance and Peter Christopherson of Coil, a band, performance artists, philosophers. Without these two and the people who introduced me to them, I'm pretty sure I would have traveled a different path with my work.

John died November 13, 2004 and Peter recently passed November 25, 2010. Both their passing's were heart breaking. As my father used to say, "A wealth of knowledge will be lost when I'm gone". Their loss truly has left emptiness in the world; a little research on these two will show just how much their presence and work influenced more than most know.

Peter, also known as Sleazy, was truly an amazing person."The music and art world has lost a great talent whose unique approach ignored the conventions of the day and often challenged the status quo." - Cosey Fanni Tutti & Chris Carter

In his passing, I have found inspiration to start recording again. For some reason, the timing just feels right. So, in catharsis I've prepared my first recording in years, a goodbye to Peter using gathered loops, samples, and interviews with Sleazy pieced together in their beloved experimental style.

Clouds in the bird

Aside from staring into fire, finding things in clouds is always fun.

In this one, I saw a giant bird.

Fire Conductor

Photographing flames can capture all sorts of cool stuff.

In this one, I saw a woman taming fire with a conductors baton.

A bit of Kerouac is fitting for this focus blur. See why.

New interesting set

I spent a couple days in the mountains a wound up with few interesting photos. They all seem to have a unifying theme reflecting my mood for the time; a little down, a bit dark, and disjointed looking for a silver lining.
